My toddler loves Doggerels. He heard me talking about the book with his grandma, and the next thing you know he comes running out of his room with the book for us to read with him.
I wish I had this book when I was teaching emergent-English speakers. Because English has so many words derived from other languages, the spelling and pronunciation are not logical. Doggerels makes some of the more frequently used words memorable and easier to comprehend.
My students enjoy reading Doggerels. There’s a rhythm to the rhymes and the quirky illustrations keep them engaged on the page.
